Saint Ambrogio
It was built in 386 by Saint Ambrogio near the martyr's cemetery with the designation of Basilica Martirium. It was rebuilt from IXth ct. to XIth ct. in the present romanesque forms. It's preceded from a four party porch, the facede is hut-shaped an on its sides it has got two quadrangle bell towers (the higest is called "dei canonici", the other "dei monaci"). Inside you can see the mosaic of the apse (it dates back to the VIIIth ct., but it was built in the IXth ct.), the golden altar with Christ and Saint Ambrogio's stories. It's the most important Basilica for the people who live in Milan.
